People will share their privacy, I will paint it.

Mobile devices have created a sort of connectivity between people along with a permanent exchange of intimacy. Sharing our everyday life using these devices through the internet is so common that we live immersed in it. But what happened to the representation of the human body and nudity in these platforms? Are two bodies interacting closer or farther away through these devices in a desire to flirt?

Paint becomes the artifact through which I shorten the distance that I perceive on the screen, a portrait of a body behind the digital screen to make it present. I ask that you share your intimacy, your naked body; that you take the necessary pictures to capture that nude intimacy and that you share them so I can transfer them to paint.

I. General Terms

This invitation is for every person who is interested in participating in the Send Nudes project by Miguel Casco. The goal is to receive pictures from a variety of people in order to complete a series of paintings.

The invitation doesn’t have a cut-off date, but the making of the paintings is limited to the production times of the author Miguel Casco.

II. Needed Documents

Pictures in a jpg, png or tif format sent to sendnudes@miguelcasco.com.

III. Rules of Participation

A. Only applications sent in through the project’s email will be taken into consideration: sendnudes@miguelcasco.com.

B. The invitation is only made to people who are of legal age.

C. Only selfies will be accepted. This means that the participant must be the one taking the picture.

D. The person who participates must show their nude body, preferably through a mirror where their body and the phone or camera can be seen.

IV. Involvement Policies

A. For more details or questions you can contact the artist through the website or send an email to sendnudes@miguelcasco.com.

B. The data consumption when sending the picture is the responsibility of the person participating. 

C. The ownership of the copyrights over these creations are exclusive to Miguel Ángel Casco Arroyo (Miguel Casco).

D. When sending the pictures, participants concede the rights to Miguel Casco.

E. Original images will not be used or shared. They will only be used to continue the Send Nudes painting project. Once each painting is finished, the pictures will be deleted.

F. Every conversation that takes place within the project will be taken into account and might be published on the website, exhibitions or posts made by the project.  

G. Individuals might interpret nudity as different concepts, the project presents the possibility of reframing their definition.

H. Once sent, any document is the responsibility of the participant and they accept the involvement policies of the Send Nudes project.
